Billing
Settings → Billing (admin and owner only) is where your account's plan and subscription live. What this page looks like depends on which payment provider your account is on — Relay supports both Stripe and Razorpay, and they behave differently here.
Plans
Relay is priced in tiers Plan — which exact plans exist, what they cost, and what each includes is configured by the Relay team and shown on the plan cards here and on the pricing page. Features and limits gated by plan show a Plan badge elsewhere in the app (for example on a locked automation action or the Usage page) so it's clear an upgrade — not a bug — is why something is unavailable.
Starting or changing a plan opens checkout with your payment provider. Nothing charges until checkout completes.
Stripe accounts: a hosted portal
If your account is on Stripe, Manage billing opens Stripe's own secure, hosted Billing Portal in a new context. From there you can update your card, download invoices, switch plans, or cancel — all inside Stripe's UI, not Relay's. Relay's page here just shows your current plan and a link in.
Razorpay accounts: this page is the portal
Razorpay has no equivalent hosted self-service portal, so for a Razorpay account, this page is the whole subscription management experience: plan cards, a monthly/annual interval toggle, a billing summary, and a cancel control, all in-app.
Cancelling
Whichever provider you're on, cancelling doesn't cut you off immediately: you keep full access until the end of the current billing period, and the page tells you the exact date access ends. Only an active, trialing, or past-due subscription can be cancelled from here — there's nothing to cancel once a subscription has already ended.
Failed payments and the restricted state
If a renewal payment fails, Relay doesn't restrict access immediately — there's a grace window (about a week) during which a banner asks you to update your payment method, and access continues normally. You'll see reminders partway through the window and again on the final day.
If the grace window runs out without a successful payment — or the subscription is otherwise cancelled or simply expired past its trial with no plan — the account becomes restricted:
- Every plan-gated feature (broadcasts, flows, the AI bot, webhooks, the public API, and so on) is switched off.
- Sending is paused — you can't send messages, run campaigns, or have automations and flows send on your behalf.
- Nothing is deleted. Your contacts, conversations, message history, pipelines, automations and flows all stay exactly as they were — reading and exporting your data keeps working the whole time.
An admin or owner can lift a restricted state by updating payment (Stripe) or reactivating/starting a new subscription (Razorpay); Relay shows a Reactivate action wherever the restriction is surfaced. A non-admin instead sees a prompt to ask an account admin.
Who can manage this
Billing is admin-and-owner gated, same as Usage and Wallet — deliberately not owner-only, since a billing admin can be delegated the subscription without being handed account deletion rights (see Members and roles).
